Sage 100 Contractor : Version 19
When Sage 100 Contractor is installed, the program data must be placed on the D:\ drive. If Swizznet has done the installation for you, this will have already been done. If you are doing the installation yourself then please be sure you place your data on the D:\ drive.
Swizznet will back up your D:\ drive and if the program data has been installed correctly this will ensure all the MB7 data is collected. If you are doing the installation be sure the data is on the D:\ drive.
Sage 100 Contractor: Version 20
In the new version 20x of Sage 100 Contractor, Sage has included a built-in method for backing up the system. The Sage administrative manual states that you must use this methodology if you want to be able to restore the product. Please review the corresponding pages on the link provided below under the section “About backing up your company data”.
In the Swizznet environment, if the program was installed by Swizznet or if you are installing the product yourself then be sure to adhere to the following:
- The data location will be on the D:\ drive. During the installation of the product, this needs to be the designated location.
- During initial install of the program Sage will ask for the time of a maintenance schedule and number of backup copies to keep as shown in the image below. If the data has been properly placed on the D:\ drive then these files will be located at d:\Sage100Con\Backup\Nightly.
- When installing the program and setting the maintenance schedule you should keep one (1) or two (2) weeks of data. We will back up this data, keep it in our system for an additional 30 days, and replicate it offsite. If you wish to keep more backups than two (2) weeks keep in mind backups use disk space which you will need to be sure you have enough of.
You can later modify this schedule by reviewing the section in the above-referenced document. Never turn off the maintenance schedule on your database, it keeps the data healthy and properly backed up!
Once these files are created then Swizznet will backup the D:\ drive which will contain these files. Those files will be stored for 30 days in both our local and remote datacenters.
