The QuickBooks Web Connector is available on Swizznet and allows user to sync their QuickBooks file with online shopping carts and other online services (time & billing, etc..).
If you need access to the QuickBooks Web Connector, simply open QuickBooks and then go to File>Update Web Services. This will open the web connector.
To get started using the QuickBooks Web Connector on Swizznet, you'll need to first download the necessary .QWC file from your online shopping cart provider or other online software. Once the .QWC has been downloaded to your local computer you'll need to open the Windows Explorer on Swizznet and copy the .QWC file from your local computer to your Z drive on Swizznet.
After the .QWC file has been uploaded to your Z drive on Swizznet you're ready to do the initial sync. To do this, first open QuickBooks on Swizznet and login to your file as the Admin user. Once you've opened your file as Admin on Swizznet, launch the QuickBooks web connector by going to File>Update Web Services in QuickBooks..
Once you have opened your company file on Swizznet as the admin user and you have the QuickBooks Web Connector open, then click Add Application in the QuickBooks Web Connector. It will bring up a window to browse for the .QWC file that you previously uploaded to your Z drive. Navigate to your Z drive and select that .QWC file. You will then be prompted to allow access both from the Web Connector and from a window in your QuickBooks file. Select the appropriate access and click OK in both prompts.
In the QuickBooks Web Connector you'll now need to enter your password from your online shopping cart or online software provider. Click Yes if you would like to save the Password.
You may sync your QuickBooks file via the Web Connector no more than once every 10 minutes. If you would like the Web Connector to automatically sync with your QuickBooks file, check the Auto-Run box and enter an interval (in minutes) in the Every_Min field. For example, to sync every 5 hours, check the Auto-Run box and enter 300. To manually sync, place a check in the box on the left and click the Update Selected button at the top of the QuickBooks Web Connector.
Using the Web Connector After The Initial Setup
If you need to manually sync or change your sync setup, open your QuickBooks file on Swizznet as the Admin user, then go to File>Update Web Services to use the web connector, check the box on the left of the Application name and click the Update Selected button at the top of the QuickBooks Web Connector.
Your online shopping cart or online software vendor should also be able to provide you with specific details and instructions on how to integrate with the Web Connector.
